Protoje’s Fourth Studio Album
A Matter Of Time
“remarkable, truly progressive reggae album”
“seizing the day in impressive style… organic, roots-respecting reggae sound with nuanced hip-hip, soul, jazz, electronic and rock flavors… soulfully-sung, melodious cognitions on life’s negatives and positives.”
Described as Protoje’s most experimental album yet, A Matter Of Time channels an array of styles and sounds from reggae, dancehall, dub, hip hop and rock into a cohesive 10 track LP. All songs were produced by Winta James and recorded at the legendary Marley-owned Tuff Gong Studios in Kingston and maintain the essence of Jamaican roots music, while pushing the envelope.
“It’s not as traditional as my last album, but it’s still authentic,” explains Protoje. “It’s more innovative, more global and more experimental. I want to elevate reggae culture and the world’s perception of it.”
A Matter Of Time is available now across all platforms
Along with the album release, Protoje published accompanying animated lyric videos for each track.
Protoje is currently touring the United States and Europe in support of the release.
