(Nov. 18, 2015) — Continuing the tradition of preserving and celebrating timeless recordings, The Recording Academy® has announced the newest additions to its vaunted GRAMMY Hall Of Fame®. This latest round of inducted recordings continues to highlight diversity and recording excellence, and acknowledges both singles and album recordings of all genres at least 25 years old that exhibit qualitative or historical significance. Recordings are reviewed annually by a special member committee comprised of eminent and knowledgeable professionals from all branches of the recording arts, with final approval by The Recording Academy’s National Board of Trustees. With 26 new titles, the list, now in its 43rd year, currently totals 1,013 recordings and will be on display at the GRAMMY Museum® at L.A. LIVE.

Representing a great variety of tracks and albums, the 2016 GRAMMY Hall Of Fame inductees range from the Andrews Sisters’ “Don’t Sit Under The Apple Tree (With Anyone Else But Me)” to the Grateful Dead’s American Beauty album. Also added to the highly regarded list are Blondie’s “Heart Of Glass,” Joe Cocker’s “You Are So Beautiful,” John Coltrane’s 1961 album Lush Life, Roberta Flack’s 1969 album First Take, Fleetwood Mac’s self-titled 1975 album, and the O’Jays’ “For The Love Of Money.” Other inductees include recordings by Jimmy Buffett, Fats Domino, Bob Dylan And The Band, John Lee Hooker, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, the Pretenders, and the Zombies, among others.

Snoop Dogg, Willie Nelson, the estate of Bob Marley, and Wiz Khalifa are all making moves in legal cannabis. But one entertainer is already the major big player. Billboard Top 10 Hip-Hop star and marijuana business mogul, Berner, has disclosed his pot-related projects gross $10 million per year.
Berner is a special guest at New West Summit, the first-ever cannabis industry conference to zero in on trends in entertainment, technology, media, and finance.
On Nov. 21 Berner will debut a documentary film on the origin of the blockbuster cannabis strain ‘Cookies’ to a live crowd of 1,000 technologists, venture capitalists, and cannabis entrepreneurs at the Parc 55 hotel in Downtown San Francisco. He is shopping the Anthony Bourdain-style cannabis travelog series called “Marijuana Mania” at the Summit where more than two-dozen reporters representing a combined 30 million readers have registered to cover the conference.
In the film, Berner travels to rural California, links up with the creators of the strain Girl Scout Cookies, tours farms, harvests amazing cannabis, and pollinates a new hybrid. The footage contains never-before-seen interviews with the horticulturalists behind the million-dollar, blockbuster strain and brand. After the Saturday screening, Berner sits for a 15-minute Q&A on the Future of Branding, the rise of Cookies.
“This documentary series portrays the real culture and stories driving the legalization movement across the world – and especially in our backyard,” said Berner. “As a San Francisco and Northern California native, it’s only right that I debut ‘Marijuana Mania’ at the New West Summit to some of the most influential players in cannabis today sitting here as my hometown crowd.”
Berner is a lifelong storyteller, with 14 albums. He’s signed to Wiz Khalifa’s Taylor Gang, and has tracks music with Snoop Dogg, Chris Brown, B-Real of Cypress Hill. He released a new EP with Cam’ron on November 10th.
