New Jersey beaches are a treasured slice of Americana; from the boardwalk shops to the carousels and roller coasters. Millions of people have found joy and peace throughout their lives with a weekend ‘down the shore’. Millions more have earned a living as people flock to the beach in the summer. What is truly amazing about New Jersey resorts is the mix: locals, fishermen, day trippers and hard core surfers mix with the privileged who own summer homes. Each of these dynamic qualities flourish against a backdrop of homegrown family businesses that dominate the landscape and keep New Jersey’s hard earned identity intact.

Available for pre-order now on iTunes http://smarturl.it/TunaMeltEP
That signature A-Trak hat just keeps accumulating feathers. 2012 saw the Grammy-nominated DJ remixing the likes of Justice and Martin Solveig, collaborating in the studio with Juicy J and Foster The People, dropping singles with Dillon Francis and DJ Zinc, gracing the cover of Billboard and starring in a Grey Goose ad campaign, all while touring non-stop around the globe – from massive electronic music festivals Ultra and I Love Techno to the raucous, invite only Fool’s Gold House Party tour.
The man GQ calls “the most skillful DJ in the world” now closes out the year with Tuna Melt, a new, four song EP. Each track is a collaboration with an eclectic choice of producers: Beatport chart-topper Tommy Trash, rookies of the year GTA, Swedish super-group Galantis and Fool’s Gold’s own Oliver, highlighting the musical diversity, irreverence and humor that we have grown to expect from Trizzy. Boston, MA, November 26, 2012. Berklee College of Music releases an updated version of its comprehensive directory of salary ranges for U.S. music positions including performance, business, audio technology, education, and music therapy. First released in 2010, Music Careers in Dollars and Cents has been revised for 2012 to keep up with a constantly changing industry.
New features include updated salary and job information; and more detailed salary ranges for many positions, such as TV and Film Score Composer, Music Supervisor, and Songwriter/Lyricist. Job titles like Video Game Composer, Film Score Conductor, and Concert Hall Manager that were not included in the previous edition have ben added. A flowchart on negotiating a job offer and a resources section that includes professional music organizations and associations are also new, along with artist revenue trends with information from the Future of Music Coalition’s recent survey.
The study shows salaries trending upwards for certain positions (Orchestral Musician, Assistant Professor, Public Relations Specialist), while others are seeing a decline (Commercial Jingle Composer, A&R Representative, Music Education Administrator). Some changes are due to more comprehensive data collection, but market factors are also at work. “It’s important to remember, despite our best research efforts, all salaries represent only ranges, dependent on numerous variables,” said Peter Spellman, Director of Berklee’s Career Development Center.
“There is downward pressure on many music performance salaries right now due to the slowing global economic recovery, changing perceptions of music’s value, and hyper competition,” Spellman continued. “Thus, all the more reason for musicians to expand their repertoire of both musical and professional skills in this transforming industry.”
Music Careers in Dollars and Cents also includes an expanded Emerging Career Paths section highlighting current positions that are expected to experience continued growth in the coming years. These titles include Mobile Music App Developer, Social Media Manager, Integrated Marketing, Content Acquisition, Audio Advertising Producer, Online Video Music Teacher, and Creative Arts Therapist.
In addition to emerging careers, the study covers a broad range of more traditional music-related fields, including orchestral, Broadway, and studio musician – with information on union rates and scales; choir director; arranger; conductor; instrument maker; A&R representative; artist manager; music attorney; live sound; record producer and engineer; audiologist; and music teacher.
Berklee’s Music in Dollars and Cents study, produced by the college’s Career Development Center, is the result of months of research and revisions. The report aims to be the most comprehensive and user-friendly resource of its kind – not only for the Berklee community, but for the music industry at large.
Berklee College of Music, for over 65 years, has evolved to support its belief that the best way to prepare students for careers in music is through contemporary music education. The college was the first in the U.S. to teach jazz, the popular music of the time. It incorporated rock n’ roll in the 1960s, created the world’s first degree programs in film scoring, music synthesis, and songwriting, and, in recent years, added world music, hip-hop, electronica, and video game music to its curriculum. With a diverse student body representing over 80 countries, a music industry “who’s who” of alumni that have received 222 Grammy Awards, Berklee is the world’s premier learning lab for the music of today – and tomorrow.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Delicious Vinyl and Yancey Media Group Declare Partnership – Announce Forthcoming Releases from Jay Dee aka J Dilla’s ‘Lost Scrolls’
November 22, 2012 (Los Angeles/Detroit): Storied hip-hop label Delicious Vinyl (Tone-Loc, Young MC, The Pharcyde) proudly announces a new partnership with Yancey Media Group, the family-operated company administering the catalog of late, great producer James Yancey aka Jay Dee, aka J Dilla. The fruits of the partnership will include new releases from what J Dilla Music Catalogue Curator Frank Nitt has dubbed ‘The Lost Scrolls’ — previously unreleased productions from the considerable body of work Dilla left behind. Delicious Vinyl has significant history with J Dilla.
In the mid-’90s, Dilla (then known as Jay Dee) placed his first beats on an official release on The Pharcyde album Labcabincalifornia (including the hit single “Runnin‘”) and remixes for Brand New Heavies. Then in 2009, Dilla’s younger brother John “Illa J” Yancey laced a cache of previously unreleased Jay Dee beats to create the critically and popularly acclaimed Delicious Vinyl album Yancey Boys. “Dilla was my closest childhood friend,” says Frank Nitt. “I went with him out to L.A. that first time in 1996. I met [Delicious Vinyl founder] Mike Ross then and saw he was giving Dilla the opportunity to get his beats out.
Fast forward thirteen years, after Dilla passed, Illa J makes Yancey Boys, and again I go out to L.A. to help with promotion. Mike Ross asked to hear what I was doing, and Delicious Vinyl wound up releasing my Jewels In My Backpack EP. So Delicious Vinyl goes back with Dilla to the beginning, and has always been part of furthering his legacy properly. We’re doing doing this with Delicious Vinyl with the total approval of [Dilla's mother] Ma Dukes, who’s known and trusted Mike from way back.”The first release from the ‘Lost Scrolls’ cache will be digital-only single “The Throwaway” this December. The song, credited to Yancey Boys feat. Frank Nitt, features new verses from Illa J and a tight hook from Frank over a vintage Jay Dee beat.
Subsequent releases in 2013 will include a 10-inch vinyl release of unheard Jay Dee cuts featuring the producer himself rapping. The new year will also see the first official release the oft-bootleged Frank & Dank album 48 Hours, the only LP ever produced by Jay Dee without any samples. Frank Nitt is set to host the Second Annual Dilla Day in Detroit on February 9th, 2013 with special guests Talib Kweli, Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, Brandon Williams Experiment, Frank & Dank, Illa J + DJ’s Spinna, Sicari and Houseshoes at The Fillmore Detroit. The flame of the Yancey legacy keeps on burning.
