The New Technics 1200 Turntable

Greetings from CES in Las Vegas – the Fusicology team loves starting the year out here!  Panasonic has updated their Technics 1200 turntable with the new 50th anniversary limited edition premium / serial number plated Grand Class SL-1200GAE available this summer in a run of just 1,200 units, along with the Grand Class Technics SL-1200G becoming available later this year.

For the purists (like us) the form of the classic turntable looks essentially the same, minus the additional ‘G’, with the upgrades being internal.  A new “coreless direct-drive motor used to correct and suppress any vibrations from the turntable’s electric motorcorrected using new processor-controlled rotational positioning sensors inside the SL-1200G’s”
