Amazon Music releases Unique: ‘Return to the 36 Chambers’ 25 Years Later, a brand-new, exclusive mini-documentary celebrating the 25th anniversary of Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s landmark debut solo album. Released 25 years ago this Saturday, March 28th, Unique is a celebration of ODB, featuring never-before-seen freestyles and footage from the iconic artist, as well as extensive interviews with pivotal figures in the rapper’s life including fellow Wu-Tang Clan members RZA and Raekwon; ODB’s widow, Icelene Jones; ODB’s son, Barsun Unique Jones (aka Young Dirty Bastard); Wu-Tang Clan’s business manager, Mitchell “Divine” Diggs; hip-hop radio legend, Bobbito Garcia; and former Elektra Records A&R, Dante Ross.

The 15+ minute documentary tracks the ODB’s rise from unsigned hype to a household name, exploring key moments in the rapper’s life, ranging from ODB’s discovery on The Stretch Armstrong and Bobbito Show, leading to his signing to Elektra Records, to the writing sessions that led to “Shimmy Shimmy Ya” and “Brooklyn Zoo.” The mini-doc also provides a look behind the curtain at ODB’s life before Wu-Tang Clan, exploring how he met his wife, his spiritual and intellectual awakening as a Five Percenter and his deep love of music from a young age. The documentary also comes as Return to the 36 Chambers: The Dirty Version finally goes platinum, almost 25 years to-the-day that album was released.
