James Brown R.I.P.

As all of you are aware, James Brown passed away Christmas morning after being hospitalized for pneumonia. James Brown will be missed by all music communities. Especially being that he was credited as a major contributor to hip hop through his being and having been sampled by groups such as the Beastie Boys, Rakim, Snoop Dogg, BDP, Ice Cube, Public Enemy and the list goes on. Famed director Spike Lee has signed on to shoot a movie about the late James Brown, titled “Godfather Of Soul,” according to Daily Variety, scheduled for production in 2008.

An innovator unlike any the world had ever seen, his list of accomplishments is incredible. Being one of the first artists inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986 and consistently topping the charts with hits like “Please, Please, Please” and “Living in America” makes James Brown more than the Godfather of Soul but a Godfather of music itself. James Brown you will be missed. Even in passing you will still be the hardest working man in music that this world has been blessed to see. And even the hardest working man must rest. May you rest in peace. Thank you….
