You have been cordially invited to attend “Homecoming” a listening party/mixer for New York City based, Vegas native,recording artist Anu~Sun. In support of an upcoming performance at Mandalay Bay and his recent album release, Anu has put together an intimate soiree for local media and tastemakers. This affair will feature cocktails, artist Q&A and musical selections from Anu’s latest project “The Adventures Of Mr. Las Vegas.” The event will take place at an undisclosed location Friday, June 1st at 9pm. Please note space for this private event is limited, so we ask that you RSVP before Friday, 5/25/12 (event details will follow your RSVP). See you on the 1st!
More About the Artist: Anu is a Soulful Hip Hop artist who has carved a niche in New York’s music thru support performances for Amel Laurrieux (Groove Theory), Q-Tip (of A Tribe Called Quest), Dwele,Talib Kweli, Kid Cudi & Raheem DeVaughn. Recent projects include collaborations with Blue Note Jazz pianist Robert Glasper & UK Neo-Soul pioneer Omar Lye-Fook. In 2006, Anu’s music video “Soul Brotha” was included in BETJ’s (now Centric) “Top 50 videos of The Year.” The artist was also featured on the network's programs “The J List” & “Chronicles of the Underground.”
In his latest release “The Adventures of Mr. Las Vegas” (the artist sophomore release) Anu portrays himself as a Vegas showman ready to strut his stuff. The soulful hip-hop offering is infused with a pop twist that renders itself to Maxwell (if he did more hip-hop tunes). The project is a chic, adult contemporary vibe reminiscent of that of The Brand New Heavies or Amel Larrieux.
