Big ups to everybody that came through to support this past Monday as we celebrated the birthday of the living legend Stevie Wonder! Beautiful vibes throughout the night and an incredible night of music. Thanks to all of the familiar faces that stopped through!
This coming Monday night is another special one for the books! We are bringing you a belated birthday celebration and tribute to the Godfather Of Soul, Mr Dynamite, James Brown! To help us with curating the James Brown vs Motown sounds, we are welcoming Chicago's own, heavy-hitter producer/dj, Maker, as well as welcoming back LA's hometown favorite, Jeremy Sole (also originally hailing from Chicago). Also in the mix, a team of MOM family DJs wil be holding it down, including MOM LA captain Expo + Gordo & Malachi from MOM SF! This one is not to be missed!

MOM (Motown On Mondays) has been running for nearly 3 years in San Francisco and was founded by DJs Gordo Cabeza & Timoteo Gigante. Over the past few years MOM has become a hometown favorite amongst Bay Area party goers. Every Monday hundreds of soul thirsty, dance ready folks from all industries converge on MOM's dance floor to absorb and reflect the love that some the best DJs on the west coast and beyond have to offer.
Recently Gordo and Timo had decided to spread the wings of the party and bring the magic of Motown to other cities like Honolulu and Los Angeles!
Since December of 2011, Every Monday in LA has been different with a fresh new weekly dance party that showcases some of the most classic soul tunes, forgotten gems, remixes and related off-shoots/inspirations from the Motown catalog. Now 1 Year old, MOM LA has become an LA favorite, while receiving write-ups from LA Weekly, being listed in the "Top 10 Club Nights For People Who Don't Like Clubs", as well as getting write-ups and features from various websites & blogs including Fusicology! This once, best-kept secret, is now becoming the talk of the town! Over the past year, MOM LA has hosted several special edition nights including a J Dilla tribute night w/ House Shoes, a Chicago Soul vs Motown Sound night w/ Impala Sound Champions from Chicago, a Stax vs Motown all-vinyl night with Bay Area guests Platurn & E Da Boss, a Root Down Does Motown night, 2 different Coast 2 Coast editions with special guest DJ Spinna, a Hip-Hop Edition with DJ Revolution, 1 Year Anniversary with J.Rocc of the Beat Junkies. MOM LA has also been honored to host the following special guests: Lord Finesse, Large Professor, Pirumov (Moscow), Maseo (De La Soul), DJ Sun, Doc Delay (NY), DJ Low Key, Mr. Len, Eric Coleman (Mochilla), Bennet, Boogie Blind (X-Ecutioners / NY), C-Minus, DJ Rhettmatic, Jesse De La Pena (Chicago), Jeremy Sole (KCRW / theLift / Afro Funke), Ohmega Watts, P-Nyce, Chorizo Funk, DJ A1 (Erykah Badu), Gazoo, DJ Bonds, Wyatt Case, Small Change (NY), Ghettoblaster DJs, B.Sears (Austin, TX), Rev Shines (Quannum), DJ Destroyer, Danny Holloway, Sean-O, DJ Evo (Vancouver), Kid Cut Up, Byze One, Ta'Raach, and many others.
