The Red Bull BC One San Diego Cypher will be held on March 31, 2012, from 3 pm to 7 pm, at FLUXX and will be hosted by Rakaa Iriscience (Dilated Peoples/Rock Steady Crew).

16 B-Boys will be pushed to their limits by the beats and rhythms of DJ DV One (Rock Steady Crew) as they battle it out in four heats.  The judges - Roxrite (2011 Red Bull BC One World Champion & San Diego local), Ronnie (2007 Red Bull BC One World Champion) and Zulu Gremlin (Universal Zulu Nation) - will have the difficult task of choosing the winner.  The winning B-Boy will earn the chance to compete in the US National Qualifier later this year in Chicago.  

The Cypher will begin at 3pm and will end at 7pm.

In 2012, the most prestigious 1-on-1 B-Boy Championship returns to Brazil for the first time since 2006. This year, the event will be held in the beautiful city of over 7 million inhabitants – Rio de Janeiro.  Just like last year, with qualification events across the globe, celebrated and unknown B-Boys have the chance to break their way into the Red Bull BC One World Final. 

There will be over 60 Cyphers, local qualification events, in countries as far and wide as India, Italy, Bolivia and Taiwan. Winners of those Cyphers will get the chance to compete in one of six continental qualifiers in an attempt to reach the World Final, which will be held in December 2012.
