The Red Bull Music Academy presents Brainfeeder Session NYC took place this past Wednesday, October 10 at Villain in Brooklyn. The evening featured performances by The Gaslamp Killer, who was celebrating the recent release of his debut album Breakthrough, Dorian Concept, Martyn, Jeremiah Jae, Taylor McFerrin and The Underachievers.
The free-form artist collective and record label is headed up by Red Bull Music Academy graduate Flying Lotus, who was in attendance celebrating the evening and his recent release Until The Quiet Comes which debuted at #34 on the Billboard Top 200 this week.
Also performing at Terminal 5 on October 11th were SBTRKT and key contributor/collaborator Sampha, hitting New York with their SBTRKT LIVE show. The duo were joined on stage by a string quartet for a special exclusive collaboration during a few tracks and the stage was adorned with two 1.5 square meter badger masks like the ones SBTRKT wears.
Opening the night were Kilo Kish, Red Bull Music Academy alum Nick Hook, as well as Koreless–one of the 62 music makers selected to attend the Red Bull Music Academy’s 2013 term.
