Gentleman Jack Rare Tennessee Whiskey presents the 5th annual tour of Art, Beats + Lyrics, a groundbreaking multimedia art and music exhibition highlighting urban art and the original themes of hip-hop and other music forms. Founded almost a decade ago by art and music enthusiasts Jabari Graham and Dubelyoo, Gentleman Jack Rare Tennessee Whiskey’s exhibition returns with the largest Art, Beats + Lyrics circuit yet, with an expansion of three shows this year. The exhibition kicks off September 14, 2012 at The Compound in Atlanta where it all started. The complete tour is as follows:
- Atlanta – The Compound – Friday, September 14
- Dallas – Palladium Ballroom — Thursday, September 20
- Houston – Warehouse Live — Thursday September 27
- Los Angeles – Union Station — Friday, October 5
- New York – Terminal 5 — Thursday, November 8
- Washington D.C. – Andrew Mellon Auditorium — Friday, November 16
- Miami – LMNT – Wednesday, December 5
- St. Louis – Neo on Locust – Friday, December 14
Every city will showcase up-and-coming visual artists as well as a musical line-up with performances by old school hip hop and soul acts like “The Funky Drummer” himself, Clyde Stubblefield, best known for his work with the legendary James Brown; rapper/DJ Scarface formerly of the Geto Boys; and Shock G of Digital Underground.
Other acts in the line-up include dubstep group Mansions on the Moon and local DJs from each city. Guests 21 years and up can enjoy smooth classic cocktails courtesy of Gentleman Jack, take in the artwork displayed around the venue, interact with the artists and practice their own creative skills with the always popular Digi-Graf Digital Spray Painting.
Attendees can create sharable animated images of themselves dancing, floating through time and space and interacting with friends in the Stop Motion Photo Area. Gentleman Jack will also be giving away 500 limited edition Art, Beats + Lyrics posters signed by the artists. Must be at least 21 years old to attend.
