NextAid: We’ve Achieved Great Things Together

on November 9, 2011with 0 comments

Dear NextAid supporters,

We are pleased to announce that we raised over $5,000 in the Bids Build Hope online auction in August.  Thanks to you!  Also because of you, the youth of the Kawangware Vision Centre (KVC) in Nairobi Kenya, are closer to having a permanent multi-purpose space to learn practical micro-enterprising skills and a place to go to avoid the streets.  You have supported 27 youth construction apprentices, 106 young children in their feeding and recreation program, 70 former street kids and vulnerable girls in their bag making business, 35 mothers and HIV positive women from KVC women’s group, and countless others from the slum community of 500,000 people whose lives are made exponentially better because of your efforts.

We are deeply grateful for the time and effort you have put in towards our auction.  By December 31st we are looking to raise $15,000 to finish the project and close this first chapter of NextAid, which has included the Red Rhino Orphanage in Kenya, GoGoGetters program supporting AIDS orphans to go to school in South Africa, traininng of youth in the construction of the Kawangware Vision Center in Kenya, and the first phase of a birthing center in Sierra Leone. If you are interested in joining NextAid in the transition to our next iteration and furthering your support at this time, please stay tuned for more fun ways to support the cause, including hosting holiday parties and gifting virtual holiday cards. Find out what you can do by joining our holiday event on facebook.  ‘Tis the season!
